Scor-Pal Blog Hop

I have signed up for another Blog Hop with my fellow TAC angels. This time everyone is doing something with the scor-pal tool.

I made these three cards with the technique using markers and the scor-pal. I added a twist by going over the back of the lines with the scoring tool so the marker lines are also raised up.
This card uses the TAC stamp Ship Collage(T2027) and gold embossing powder over Versamark ink. The two cards below have no stamping, only decorated paper and paper posies.

Here is the tutorial that Rita Kegg did for the Scor-pal website that inspired me:

Acetate

I just returned from a visit with a dear friend in Washington and my son's family in Portland. I took pictures of breathtaking scenery, thinking some would look great on cards. Here is the card I made to send to my friend who was with me when I took the picture. I used stamps from the sets Flourishes(T2614 p. 70 fall cataog) and Swirly Sayings(a retired Mabelle set), stamped a piece of acetate with Stazon Opaque cotton white, and attached it to the photo with a ribbon before gluing it on to the card.

I also used another photo taken of the same harbor with the gray clouds as a basis for a sympathy card, but that one got sealed in the envelope before I remembered about scanning it. I have to say thank you to Allison whose card was the original inspiration and whose love for all things acetate got me hooked. Here's her blog page-she is very creative so you must check out her posts.

"Zindorf" style card

Have you seen Michelle Zindorf's blog yet? What she does with ink and embossing pwoder is pure art. I made this card for my father in law's birthday. It is my first attempt at something like what Michelle does. I embossed the Hunting scene first, then embossed the moon, then added different colors of ink by rubbng them directly on the paper and buffing them off the embossed areas.

Michelle has almost 200 tutorials on her website here:

Flower Collage Trio

My fellow Angels are having a "Blog Hop" where we all post a card made with the same stamp set and then add the links to everyone's blog so you can see everyone's ideas. The stamp set we are using is called Flower Collage Trio (T899) and it is one of my favorites. It can be used for many different occasions. Click on the stamp name to see all the stamps in the set.

I colored the flowers with a blending pen and watercolor pencils, trying to keep it subtle. The bottom is torn patterned paper with sponged purple ink across the torn edge, then glued on white cardstock . The purple tab is just a punched circle cut in half with a stickle spot in the center. There's also a stickle spot in the flower's center. I did a little paper piercing, some sponging of black around the edges, wrapped a sheer ribbon around it, and then adhered it to a purple card.

Valentines

The day will be here before you know it. I made these two cards today. The scallop edge was made using a corner rounder. I colored the ladies with a blender pen and watercolor pencils on a piece of watercolor paper. "Love" and "U" are heat embossed using Versamark ink with pink powder. The red paper is a deeper red than the scan shows. All stamps are from The Angel Company. The ladies are from a retired set.

Birthday Cards

I have made these cards recently for family birthdays.
The one on the left was for my sister who loves to dance. I used the Giga scalloped circle punch with the swiss dot embossng folder. The other one was for my husband's sister. The red cardstock opens into a check holder. I then glued it onto a 5X7 sheet so it would fit in a standard envelope. Now I have to go make my son's birthday card.

Christmas Cards

Wow, I can't believe I have not updated this blog since July! Here are three of the designs I used for my Christmas cards this year. THe first 2 cards use stamps from the TAC set Christmas Fun(T1253) and the last one uses a set from the fall suplement called Homespun Holliday(T2976). If you want to know how I made them, shoot me an email.

Serendipity

Last week I was making a card using Heiroglyph Horses and wanted to see how the Jumbo Java color would look embossed on the light green textured paper. So I practiced on a smaller piece not intended for my card that I was making(see post from July 17). Anyways, that practice piece was laying out on my work table and today I decided to incorporate it into a birthday card I needed to make. I planned to have the green sheet matted squarely by the brown sheet, but when I dropped them both, they landed at angles to each other-I liked the look and decided to stay with it.

that's serendipity!

Simple Sketches

This card was created from a Paperwings sketch challenge yesterday. I have never made a card from a sketch, believe it or not, and I now think this a great way to go when you can't think of a design layout. This is different, too, from "casing" a card-that is, making one to look just like, or very similar, to another because you start with only a sketch or drawing. You still have to decide on color, images, embellishments etc.

I used the heiroglyph horses and linear sentiments stamp sets as well as Sands of Time paper. The horse and dots were stamped with Jumbo Java VersaMagic ink and embossed with clear powder. If you read this and are inspired, I would love to see a card you make with this same design.

I am back from Rhode Island.

My angel friend Sandy invited me to her home for her catalog debut today. She had Penelope and Angelee papers cut out for 2 make and takes. The card on the right I made using Angelee paper and the Build a Floewer set. The other is a 6x6 scrapbook page using the Penelope paper and the More Abundance stamp set. I plan to put a picture of my grand daughter on it using the punched flowers as corners.
